The Lake Veiw Gite is set to the left of the main house where we have converted the lower half of the barn, consisting of:

  • 2 bedrooms, 1 room with Double bed, & the other has bunk beds/2 singles, plus a single Z bed if required.  Linen and towels supplied.                                                                   
  • Lounge area with sofa, 2 chairs, small log burner, tv, dvd player.   
  • Dining area with table & chairs.        
  • Kitchen with gas cooker, fridge/frezzer, microwave               
  • Shower room (corner cubicle shower) toilet w/basin and washing machine.     

Outside is a patio area with table, chairs & umbrella, bbq, with a superb view of the lake.

Travel cot, High Chair, Changing Mat, Baby Bath & Pushchair are available if required.  Just let us know when you book.

We have a selection of bikes available for you to use (children's & adults). plus a Swing set, Trampoline, Football net, Boules set, seesaw, Paddling pool, Toddlers ball pool, bike & Playframe with Slide.

There will be a small amount to Tea, Coffee, Sugar & Milk for you to make a drink when you arrive.

Heating is by a log-burner in the lounge, 2 baskets of logs free, then 5 euros for 2 baskets, electric heaters in the bedrooms and shower room, a small charge for units over set amount.

Sorry no pets and no smoking in rooms. 

We regret that the terrain may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.


The National Forest of St-Sever covers 1.550 hectares, huge parts were destroyed in the storms of December 1999 winds of 200kms per hr, replanting has taken place, with deciduous Oak, Chestnut, Beech, Douglas & Sliver fir trees.  The forest is also home to Deer, Wild Boar, Foxes & Badgers.  With lots of hiking trails for those who want to walk.  In a clearing in the forest is a small Monastery built in 1214 by hermits, and reopened in 1984 by nuns.

Lac du Gast (Lake of Le Gast) is at the edge of the forest it’s a haven for birdwatchers with Ducks, Moorhens, Coots, Herons & migratory birds.

Ramblers can walk for miles along old railway tracks or chemins.

The towns of Vire, Villedieu-les-poeles both have good restaurants, Café/bar’s to sit outside and watch people going by.

Calvados is famous for Apples and Pears, which are made into Cider, Perry & of course Calvados (Apple brandy) from which the Region gets its name
